Our Fiber Thatch Roofing History

Fiber thatch is the international division of Fiber Roofing cc (originally known as Redruth Thatching). The company was founded by Jan and Miriam Grobler in 1976. By the early 1990s, Jan and Miriam had already grown this thatching company from a small company to a workforce of nearly 200 employees and 1,000 thatch harvesters, constructing over 50,000m² of thatch roof areas per year.

Our working directors and shareholders have a combined knowledge and expertise in the thatching manufacturing field comprising of more than 150 years. The property and factories from which the business operates is owned by Fiber Roofing cc. The Fiber Roofing team has ±100 employees which consist of: directors, project engineers, technicians, general office staff and carpenters. We supply up to 90% of all the successful thatch companies in the world. Working ethically and with integrity is absolutely fundamental to the on-going success of our business. Without our global distributors our company simply wouldn’t have grown the way it has.
