LEARN MORE

Angsana Ihurur is one of the most picturesque islands you will ever see and it is one of the current projects in the works here at Fiber Thatch. Angsana Ihurur faced a challenge that many resort owners have come to dread, re-thatching Modern Lapa Design

The big problem that comes with re-thatching is that it will not last. Given a few years and this beautiful resort will be back to the problem where it started. However, here at Fiber Thatch we offer Synthetic Thatch Tiles for Modern Lapa Design in a variety of styles that look exactly like the reel thing, if not better!

Fiber Reed require 5.4 tiles per square meter to provide a smooth completely natural looking grated thatch finish. With this, you will even convince people familiar with thatch roofing of its authenticity. Often these people will only realise that the fiber reed thatch is synthetic after physically touching the roof.

Why Synthetic Thatch Roofing Is the Future of Resort Design In the world of luxury hospitality and eco-conscious development, first impressions are everything, and nothing makes a statement like a beautifully thatched roof. Traditionally associated with tropical resorts and coastal retreats, thatch roofing has now evolved with modern technology. Synthetic thatch roofing offers the same natural charm, but with unmatched durability, sustainability, and performance. For architects, developers, and resort owners, this innovation is fast becoming the standard for iconic, low-maintenance roofing. ?What Is Synthetic Thatch Roof Synthetic thatch is engineered to replicate the texture, colour, and charm of natural palm or reed thatching, but it’s made using high-performance materials like HDPE (high-density polyethene) or PVC blends. These fibres are UV-stable, fire-rated, and built to last for decades without fading or degrading. The goal? To preserve the timeless beauty of tropical thatch while eliminating the drawbacks: rot, pests, mould, and frequent replacement. Key Benefits of Synthetic Thatch Incredible Longevity Unlike traditional thatch, which may last 3 to 7 years depending on climate, Fiber Thatch products are designed to last 20+ years with minimal maintenance. They are resistant to UV damage, rain, humidity, and salt air. Low Maintenance & Fire Resistance Forget about combing, replacing, or re-thatching every few seasons. Fiber Thatch’s materials are self-draining , mould-resistant, and can be installed with fire-retardant properties certified to international standards. Sustainable by Design Synthetic thatch significantly reduces the demand for natural palm leaves, contributing to the conservation of natural habitats . It is also fully recyclable, making it an ideal choice for environmentally responsible construction. Design Flexibility and Applications Synthetic thatch roofing can be customised to suit a wide range of design visions. Whether you’re building an eco-resort in Bali , a safari lodge in Kenya , or a poolside bar in the Caribbean , this solution adapts effortlessly. ● Resorts & eco-lodges : Natural look with weatherproof reliability ● Beach clubs & restaurants : Delivers ambience without structural concerns ● Theme parks & cultural centres : Durable under heavy footfall and varying weather ● Residential projects : Adds a premium tropical look to gazebos or lapa roofs With multiple colour profiles and thatch styles available, Fiber Thatch helps you achieve authenticity without compromise . ?Why Choose Fiber Thatch With a global project portfolio stretching across North America, the Caribbean, Africa, the Middle East and Asia , Fiber Thatch has become the trusted name for premium synthetic thatch systems. ?What sets us apart ● Globally trusted by 5-star resorts ● Products tested to ASTM and international fire standards ● Eco-conscious materials backed by durability warranties ● Multiple styles and colours to match any regional aesthetic ● Full technical support and global shippingFiber Thatch’s roofing systems are more than just a product — they’re an architectural solution rooted in design excellence.
