The photos show fire tests performed on a Fiber Thatch test panel in accordance with DIN 4102 Part 7.

The tests were performed by Testing and Confirmity Services (Pty) Ltd of the S.A.B.S.

Conclusion:

The Fiber Thatch roof section complied with all the requirements of DIN 4102 Part 7. Class A fire rating.

    Test method: BS476 Part 7 - Fire test, Class 1-Rating.

  • In the U.S.A by Safari Thatch and Bamboo inc. (to visit click http://www.safarithatch.com)
    Test method: TAS-100-95 - Wind driven rain test, passed.
    Test method: UL-2218 - Hail test, passed.
    Tests conducted by http://www.priasphalt.com
    Test method: ASTM-E108 - Flame spread, Class A-Rating.
    Test method: ASTM-E843 - Flame spread, Class A-Rating

    Further tests on Fiber Thatch particles only:

Test method: ASTM d638 - Elongation 22%
Test method: ASTM D1822 - Tensile impact strength 152KJ/m
Test method - ASTM D1525 - Vicat Softening point (5kg) 83C

The physical properties on the Fiber Thatch particles relate to the last mentioned three tests.
